It is hard to believe that I have not posted anything on our blog since July. That is 5 months ago...that is almost half a year! Yikes!Well, where to start, with so much time passing us by.
The summer went so fast, but it went well. Choco is now a permanent part of our family, and he will be the last addition until we adopt a baby. Along with summer came gardening, canning, building furniture, building another cider press, berry picking, swimming, and dreaming of going to the beach (which never happened).
Gardening was our favorite part of the summer. Not everything grew well(our cucumbers and beans were a complete failure), but it was such a great experience, and we are so excited for next year.
Fall came so quickly, but Scott and I both love the fall. The warm days, cool nights, the colors of the leaves and all desserts include pumpkin or apples. What is not to love about that. I was so excited about decorating for the fall because our giant pumpkins were perfect for on the front porch. These pumpkins were huge! We could have entered them into the fair kind of huge. I also loved being able to take the dried up cornstalk and attach them with ribbons on the front of the porch. As you can tell, I really love the fall.
The most exciting of all happenings during the fall was Scott baptizing my nephew, Alex and taking a much needed trip to Vancouver to see my grandma. Alex's baptism was such an exciting day. My mom and younger sister, Pam, came up to Yakima and then we went over the baptism. What a fun, special day.
With the beginning of fall Scott and I became incredibly busy. I was working almost every day substituting, in addition to teaching drivers ed. at night. Scott was also put over a new project at work, which was exciting, but it required us to increase our level of organization.
Halloween and Thanksgiving came and went in the blink of an eye. Now we are 12 days away from Christmas and 18 days away from the new year. Scott and I are hopeful as we approach 2011 for both our family and our family business.
Our family business is approaching its third season, and we have high hopes for expanding into the California and Oregon markets. Scott and my dad are going to be attending the Tularie Ag Show in Tularie, CA in February. It is suppose to be the biggest show in the world. It is quite exciting for us.
Scott and I are also hoping that 2011 will be the year that we get to adopt a precious baby into our family. It has been quite the year regarding adoption options, and there are a lot. Regarldess of the agency or method of adoption, it is a miracle to see the many lives that are touched by adoption. It is such a blessing to all involved. I continue to be amazed by the adoption stories incredible stories that surround us. I want to take the opporturnity thank all of the birth mothers who have been so brave, and so selfless; it is such an indescribable gift to both the child and the adoptive parents. It is truly a gift that would not be possible with out strong, mature, selfless birth mothers.
I also want to thank all my family and wonderful friends for their love and support of Scott and I. This has been quite the challenge for us, but a challenge that we are grateful for. If anyone knows of an expecting mother that is considering adoption, please let her know about us. We have our profile posted on www.itsaboutlove.org. We love you all, thank you again for your love, support, and friendship. Scott and I have been so blessed with amazing families and friends, you all bring such joy to our journey.
